Outsiders.... turns out we're the secret weapons

Today was the last day of class at the Universidad de Europea de Madrid.... aaaah cannot believe how fast 4 months has gone. I finished all my exams and handed in all my portfolios. Now a month of holiday ahead of me before going back to Holland. As I already told you.., tomorrow is the day I leave to Portugal for a week! I have to leave in like 4 hours to the airport. So excited! But before I leave I wanted to post a new look. Wanted to show these levi shorts for a long time. Scored it for only 8 euro in this great vintage shop. I also posted a behind-the-scenes picture of me and my friend efrain who made all of my latest photo's. The last picture is a personal one where you can see my first experience with riding on a longboard. It was amazing!!!! Would love to do that everyday in sunny weather in the park, just experience freedom and relaxation.

"There are thousands of fashion blogs that blog about the exact same thing as you. What makes your blog different and better!?"

I was talking to this guy I didn't know at a party and my blog came up in the conversation. He asked me: 'There are so many fashion blogs who blog about the exact same thing as you, what makes you different, what makes you special, what makes you better then the others'. This question really got me thinking. I was analysing myself and my blog to answer those questions. I came to the realization that I'm not different, more unique or better then other fashion blogs. But then, what's wrong with that!? Why always the pressure to be better, to be unique, to be different. I think this pressure is common to a lot of other bloggers. The need to distinct yourself from others. To be special, to be original so you will get known.. But then if you try so hard to stand out, to be different you will lose track of yourself. It's impossible to be yourself any more if you're gonna focus on the need to be different.. And in the end.. being yourself that's all that matters about a blog in my eyes. After doubting myself and thinking of strategies to become the best and most original blogger of them all I decided that I'm good enough how I am at this moment! I'm just me, Eline -> herPhoenix and I'm gonna stay that way. And if that means that I'm not the most special blogger out there, then I'm fine with that.

That moment when you type a huge message to someone & they only reply to the unimportant part

I've been wanting to make pictures of this zara blue skirt for such a long time. I cut it shorter at the back because I'm not that tall (don't let the pictures fool you haha) and without heels the skirt covered all my legs. I'm wearing it with a black Primark blouse which I cut short also. The bracelet is actually a belt but love to wear it this way. Shoes are also Primark. This week will be filled with uni work unfortunately so I won't be able to shoot a look until next weekend. At 6 June I'm going to travel around Portugal for a week with 2 lovely girls. I really cannot wait!!

Dream big. Imagine your greatest each day. Those that expect nothing, will not be disappointed.

Let me know what you think about this! My friend took this picture with my iphone when we rent a boat in the retiro park on the lake. With my toes in the water and my face in the sun, ultimate relaxation. The summer outfit of the day! This dress (H&M) has been laying in my closet, untouched, for more than a year. I took it with me to Madrid to give it a chance to shine, and today was finally that day. It totally gives that summery feeling! I'm wearing it with the same vintage belt of last post and new shoes I found yesterday in the H&M!. My lovely friend took some fast pictures when I was showing her around the city.
